Ludhiana, May 13, 2022 (News Team): NEHRU SIDHANT KENDER TRUST commemorated the 58th Death Anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on 13th May, 2022 at an impressive function held at: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust, Feroze Gandhi Market, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. Students from 29 schools of Ludhiana were present in large numbers along with the eminent citizens of Ludhiana. Surabhi Malik, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest. The function started with floral tributes paid to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Chief Guest and the Trustees.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of the Trust welcomed the Chief Guest and the students present on the occasion. He also shared the activities of the Trust and informed the audience that the Trust distributed scholarships to the tune of Rs. 86 Lakhs to more than 1500 students by the way of scholarships and awards during the year 2021-22.
The Trust had also organized 26thInter-School Declamation Contest on 7thMay, 2022 in which 19 schools from Ludhiana had participated. The Chief Guest gave away the trophies to the winners of the contest and Nehru Championship Trophy to the winner team of B.C.M. Senior Secondary School, Focal Point. Besides this, the individual prizes were distributed to the students. The Chief Guest also distributed scholarship cheques of Rs. 8,36,100/- to students of 29 Schools of the city. He also spoke about the Horizon School of Excellence at Bhamian Road, which will be a CBSE affiliated school which will provide free education to underprivileged children.
Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, Sh. Bipin Gupta, General Secretary, Sunil Gupta, Vice President, G. L. Bassi, Treasurer, Dr. S. C. Ahuja, Siddharth Aggarwal, Sanjay Jain, Parveen Sayal, Rashmi Grover, all Trustees and other members of various committees of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust and other dignitaries.
The Chief Guest Surabhi Malik, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana complimented the Trust for the social work being done by the Trust. She called upon the children to follow the path of hard work and honesty.
